Last night I stayed up until the wee hours viewing a spellbinding video called, “The Gig’s Up – You, Your Money and the Federal Reserve”

If you have the courage to seek out information that most likely will be contrary to anything you’ve ever been taught or heard before in your life, I urge you to make the 90 minutes or so it will take you to view this film.  An important, factual history lesson that compels us to further inquiry.

Truman’s world turns out to be the largest sound stage in the world, and everyone in his life is really just an actor, an “extra” on the set. His life has been the central point, and he the star of the show since the day he was born, and he’s the only one there that doesn’t know it’s just a TV show, not the real world. He’s been led to believe that the little island he lives on, Sea Haven Island, is the real deal, always being dissuaded from thinking about going outside its ocean boundaries. But, life has always been at least pleasant, if not always happy, and aside from the drama that’s been concocted to keep the show’s ratings high, the days in Truman’s life have passed without much introspection or examination. He, like most of us, believes in what he sees and what he’s been taught. He is, sadly, a contented prisoner, unaware of the limitations of his cage. At one point the show’s director sagely observes,  “We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented.  ” Much like the baby elephant who’s been chained to a stake in the ground since he was born, and who still thinks the chain will keep him tied to that one spot even when he’s full grown and powerful and can easily yank it out, it doesn’t even occur to Truman until he’s a married adult that there may be more to the world than what he’s been allowed to see and experience. He just knows that he’s had a longing to travel, to see the other side of the world. Then, as he gradually discovers the truth and eventually is forced to face it squarely, he is left with a decision: should he remain on Sea Haven Island where he can count on remaining safe because everything is a “known” element? Or should he follow his instincts, ignore his fears of the unknown, and enter the “real” world?

Like Truman when he finally discovers he can leave and that he does possess the courage to do so, I am discovering that what I’ve been taught all my life about money, the morality of debt, credit, wealth, democracy, voting, authority, power, my own power in relation to those in power, and how events in history unfold has, in large part, been a hoax, a lie. Not a mean lie, not a deliberate lie by those closest to me who raised me and taught me, because we’ve all been brought up with the same basic viewpoint, but a lie none the less, perpetrated on all of us, or least most of us, by the ones who did know about it and chose not to tell us because then they would have lost their advantage over us. And now, with this enormous paradigm shift in my awareness and my thinking, as I’m still digesting the enormity of the fraud, and the consequences of having been uninformed for my entire life, I’m realizing that I, like Truman, have a decision to make: Do I choose to pretend that I don’t really know what’s going on, or that it’s just too complicated and overwhelming for me to do anything about? Or do I take responsibility for myself and my life – REALLY take it – and depart from the status quo? I’m going to need some time to evaluate this a bit further, and to contemplate what this departure would require of me in terms of personal change and commitment, but in my heart of hearts, I sense, indeed I know that I will never, ever be able to go back home again.

Well, gotta get a couple hours of sleep before leaving for my class. This class is helping me learn how I can defend my home, protect it from being foreclosed, by challenging the legalities, the authority by which my lender has been conducting its business all this time. Our homework for today was to research the origin of money, and to learn all we can about HJR 192. No, I’m not gonna spoon feed you. Google it and reserach it for yourself, and then we can talk.

You see, once I got past the denial and the stress of it all, I slowly began to realize that this foreclosure could, truly, be one of the best things that’s ever happened to me.

Now follow me, here.  I’m not nuts.  I’ve simply learned that, sooner or later, we’re all presented with  opportunities to learn and grow when a personal crisis or tragedy hits, if we can just recognize it and grab onto it.

So, this is my journey; and I hope it can help someone else – maybe even you – to find their path to peace of mind, and eventually, even back to prosperity.
